What changes the price
Layout
Keeping the sink, range and fridge where they are is the biggest saving. Moving plumbing, gas or venting, or removing a load-bearing wall, adds the most cost.
Cabinets
Often the largest single item. Stock cabinets cost least, custom the most. Drawer bases, pull-outs and tall pantries add up.
Counters

- Is it the same layout and the same cabinet line in each quote?
- Are counters, backsplash, flooring and lighting included?

- What allowances are included for fixtures and hardware?
